What it means in practice
90 days is about three months. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 29 January 2027, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.
How Namibia counts your stay: You may stay until the date written on your entry stamp.
Before you go

- Documents for children under 18 — Before departure; Free. Bring the child's full (unabridged) birth certificate showing both parents, original or certified copy. If travelling with one parent, bring the other parent's consent affidavit; with a non-parent, both parents' consent; unaccompanied minors also need the host's letter with address.
At the border
Official details are shown in English.
- Passport valid at least 6 months after arrival with at least 3 blank pages
- Check the entry stamp and permitted stay date before leaving the counter; a wrong or missing stamp can lead to fines or detention
- Yellow fever certificate if arriving from a country with yellow fever risk
How to avoid overstaying
- Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
- Plan to leave a day or two early. With 90 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
- Extend before you run out. Contact the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security before your visa expires.
- Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for Namibia. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.
