What it means in practice

90 days is about three months. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 29 January 2027, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.

How Seychelles counts your stay: Initial visitor's permit: up to 3 months; maximum 12 months in total.

For United States passports: No visa; Travel Authorisation required; visitor's permit up to 3 months.

Before you go

Official details are shown in English.

  • Seychelles Travel Authorisation — Up to 30 days before arrival; must be held before departure; Paid online (amount shown on the portal); an express option costs extra. Apply on seychelles.govtas.com or in the Seychelles e-Border app. Have your return/onward ticket, accommodation booking for the whole stay and proof of funds ready; declare cash of 50,000 rupees or more in the application. The authorisation is checked at boarding and on arrival. Cruise and yacht passengers also need it (Maritime Travel Authorisation, mandatory since 1 December 2024). Official site

At the border

Official details are shown in English.

  • Approved Seychelles Travel Authorisation
  • Passport valid for the whole stay
  • Return or onward ticket, confirmed accommodation and sufficient funds
  • You may be asked for travel insurance covering medical costs
  • Yellow fever certificate if arriving from a country with yellow fever risk (transit under 12 hours without leaving the airport is exempt)

How to avoid overstaying

  • Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
  • Plan to leave a day or two early. With 90 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
  • Extend before you run out. Apply before the permit expires online at permits.ics.gov.sc (card only) or at Independence House, Victoria, Mahé. Fee: 5,000 rupees per additional 3 months or part of it.
  • Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for Seychelles. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.

Good to know

Official details are shown in English.

  • Foreign nationals who have been in or transited the DR Congo in the last 21 days may be refused entry.
  • Seychellois citizens and permit holders must file an Embarkation Information Form on the same portal before leaving Seychelles.
