What it means in practice

15 days is about two weeks. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 15 November 2026, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.

For a longer base you need an extension, if one exists, or a different visa from the start. Repeated back-to-back entries are at the officer's discretion.

How Togo counts your stay: As set by the e-visa (15, 30 or 90 days).

At the border

Official details are shown in English.

  • Passport valid at least 3 months after you leave Togo (and 3 months beyond the visa)
  • Approved e-visa and completed online registration
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate

How to avoid overstaying

  • Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
  • Plan to leave a day or two early. With 15 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
  • Extend before you run out. Contact the DGDN (Direction Générale de la Documentation Nationale) in Lomé; longer stays require a residence card.
  • Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for Togo. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.

Good to know

  • FCDO advises against all travel within 30 km of the Burkina Faso border (except Dapaong and the N1 road to it from the south) and against all but essential travel to the rest of the Savanes region.
