Mozambique visa for Israeli citizens

ETA

ETA · 30 days

Israeli citizens don't need a visa for Mozambique, but must get an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) online before the trip. Stays of up to 30 days are allowed. Most visitors from outside southern Africa need an online eTA (up to 30 days) or e-visa, paid online and approved before travel; it cannot be paid at the border. What it means in practice

30 days is about a month. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 30 November 2026, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.

For a longer base you need an extension, if one exists, or a different visa from the start. Repeated back-to-back entries are at the officer's discretion.

How Mozambique counts your stay: eTA: up to 30 days. Overstay fine: USD 50 per day.

Before you go

For tourism or business visits of up to 30 days. Apply and pay on the official portal; you then get the eTA by email. Print the approved eTA and the payment receipt: immigration asks for them. Hotel bookings should be paid. You may also be asked for a return or onward ticket and proof of funds. Official site

At the border

Official details are shown in English.

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond your stay with at least 2 blank pages (strictly enforced)
  • Printed eTA/e-visa and payment receipt
  • Check that your entry stamp shows the correct dates before leaving the desk
  • Yellow fever certificate if arriving from a country with yellow fever risk
  • Children under 18: unabridged birth certificate; if not travelling with both parents, a notarised consent affidavit no older than 3 months
  • Declare 10,000 meticais or more, or foreign cash of USD 5,000 or more

How to avoid overstaying

  • Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
  • Plan to leave a day or two early. With 30 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
  • Extend before you run out. Apply via the e-visa portal or at a regional migration office (SENAMI), for a fee, before your stay ends.
  • What overstaying costs. Overstay fine: USD 50 per day.

Good to know

Official details are shown in English.

  • FCDO advises against all travel to Cabo Delgado Province (except Palma town and the Pemba/Afungi area, where only essential travel is advised), the Memba and Eráti districts of Nampula and the Mecula and Marrupa districts of Niassa.
  • Not all land borders are open 24 hours, and crossings can close at short notice; check opening times on the e-visa portal.
  • If you visit relatives, your host must register you with SENAMI within 5 days; late registration is fined 1,000 meticais per day.
