Nigeria visa for Singaporean citizens

e-Visa

e-Visa · 30 days

Singaporean citizens need an e-Visa for Nigeria, applied for online before the trip. It covers stays of up to 30 days. Visas are no longer issued at the airport: visitors who need one apply online for a Nigerian e-Visa before travel. Every foreign passenger also files the online Landing Card before arrival.

What it means in practice

30 days is about a month. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 30 November 2026, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.

For a longer base you need an extension, if one exists, or a different visa from the start. Repeated back-to-back entries are at the officer's discretion.

How Nigeria counts your stay: Stay is limited to the period of your visa class (Tourism e-Visa: 30 days).

Before you go

Official details are shown in English.

  • Nigeria e-Visa (Short Visit) — Tourism — Cost: Depends on visa class; shown in the portal and paid online by card at the end of the application; Processing: Online; decision and approval letter sent by e-mail; Validity: Tourism and Visiting visas: single entry; Stay: 30 days (Tourism); not extendable. Apply on the official site
  • Nigeria Landing Card (and Exit Card on departure) — Online before arrival; the Exit Card before departure; Free on the official portal. Since 1 May 2025 Landing and Exit Cards are mandatory for all passengers entering or leaving Nigeria and are filed online instead of on paper. The form asks for your passport or visa number and passport category (ECOWAS, visa-exempt or other). Download or print the confirmation and show it at the checkpoint. Official site
  • Apply for a Nigerian e-Visa — Before departure; visas are not issued at the port of entry; Depends on visa class; shown in the portal and paid online by card. Choose the class that matches your trip (e.g. Tourism, single entry, 30 days; Business, single entry, 30 days; Transit, 1–7 days). Passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages, plus a return or onward ticket; most classes also ask for proof of funds or accommodation and some for an invitation letter. Updates come by e-mail; if approved you receive an e-Visa Approval Letter with a QR code and reference number to show on arrival. Official site
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (optional) — Get vaccinated at least 10 days before arrival; Depends on the vaccination centre. A certificate (International Certificate of Vaccination, "yellow card") is required from travellers aged 9 months and older arriving from a country with yellow fever risk, including airport transits or layovers there. Nigeria itself has yellow fever risk and vaccination is recommended for all travellers aged 9 months and older; carry the card with your passport. Official site

At the border

  • Passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages
  • Printed or digital e-Visa Approval Letter with QR code (if you need a visa)
  • Landing Card confirmation
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Yellow fever card if arriving from a country with yellow fever risk

How to avoid overstaying

  • Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
  • Plan to leave a day or two early. With 30 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
  • Extend before you run out. Short-visit e-Visas are not extendable. For a longer stay, apply for the appropriate visa or residence permit from abroad.
  • Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for Nigeria. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.

Good to know

  • ECOWAS citizens do not need a visa to enter Nigeria; they still file the Landing Card.
