What it means in practice
90 days is about three months. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 29 January 2027, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.
How the Solomon Islands counts your stay: Tourist visa: up to 3 months per entry. Visa-exempt (reciprocal) passports: 90 days per single entry.

At the border
Official details are shown in English.
- Passport valid for at least 6 months after arrival, with 2 blank pages
- Printed or saved visa approval and VARN
- Return or onward ticket and proof of funds may be checked
- Yellow fever certificate if arriving from a yellow fever country
- Declare anything prohibited or subject to duty
How to avoid overstaying
- Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
- Plan to leave a day or two early. With 90 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
- Extend before you run out. Tourist visa holders may apply at the Immigration visa counter before the entry permit expires; fee USD 100, paid at the Finance & Treasury cashier. The 90-day exemption cannot be extended.
- Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for the Solomon Islands. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.
Good to know
Official details are shown in English.
- Stays over 90 days need an HIV test for the visa or residence application.
- Dual citizenship is not recognised, which can limit consular help.
