What it means in practice
30 days is about a month. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 30 November 2026, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.
For a longer base you need an extension, if one exists, or a different visa from the start. Repeated back-to-back entries are at the officer's discretion.
How Cabo Verde counts your stay: The permitted stay is set by the border police at entry.
Before you go
Official details are shown in English.
- EASE pre-registration and airport security fee (TSA) — Before departure, preferably at least 5 days before travel; TSA 3,400 CVE per traveller on international flights, paid online at registration. Register yourself or through a tour operator: passport details, arrival and departure dates, flight number and accommodation. Children under 2 and transfer passengers are exempt from both registration and the fee. In exceptional cases the TSA can be paid at the border in cash or by card, with an extra charge. Pre-registration does not guarantee entry. Use only ease.gov.cv. Official site
At the border
Official details are shown in English.
- Passport used for the EASE registration
- EASE registration and TSA payment, or pay the TSA at the border with an extra charge
- Visa, if your nationality is on the visa list
How to avoid overstaying
- Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
- Plan to leave a day or two early. With 30 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
- Extensions. Our data has no extension route for Cabo Verde; plan to leave on time or arrange a different visa in advance.
- Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for Cabo Verde. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.
