What it means in practice

30 days is about a month. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 30 November 2026, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.

For a longer base you need an extension, if one exists, or a different visa from the start. Repeated back-to-back entries are at the officer's discretion.

How Singapore counts your stay: Permitted stay is set by the immigration officer and shown on your e-Pass.

• SG Arrival Card (SGAC) with electronic health declaration — Within 3 days before arrival, including the arrival day (e.g. from 28 June for a 30 June arrival); Free. Submit via the ICA SGAC e-Service or the free MyICA Mobile app (it can save your profile). One submission can cover up to 3 trips. You get an acknowledgement e-mail; at immigration you only show your passport. If your health changes, use "Update SGAC". Not needed if you transit without clearing immigration. ICA is not linked to commercial sites that charge for submission. Official site

At the border

• Passport valid at least 6 months
• SG Arrival Card submitted
• Confirmed onward or return ticket and enough funds for the stay
• Visa, if your nationality requires one

How to avoid overstaying

• Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
• Plan to leave a day or two early. With 30 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
• Extend before you run out. Apply online to ICA for an extension of the Visit Pass before it expires; approval is not guaranteed.
• Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for Singapore. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.
