What life is like
Programme details are shown in English.
Why people move
Ghana is known for its warmth, music and growing arts and food scene. Most newcomers base themselves in Accra, especially areas like Osu, East Legon and Airport Residential, with coastal towns like Cape Coast and Busua for weekends.
Day to day
Domestic flights and long-distance buses connect major cities, with tro-tro minibuses for short hops. Private hospitals in Accra handle most needs. Mobile money is everywhere, 4G is decent in cities, and English is the official language.
Trade-offs
Heat and humidity are constant, and traffic in Accra is heavy. Power and water supply can be unreliable. Imported goods and good housing are expensive, and malaria is a real risk.
Before you move: visa-free entry
Most people arrive as visitors first, then apply from inside the country or come back with the right visa. How long you can stay as a visitor depends on your passport:
