What it means in practice
90 days is about three months. If you arrive on 1 November 2026, your last legal day is 29 January 2027, because the arrival day is day one. Use the stay calculator for your own dates.
How Serbia counts your stay: Visa-free period depends on nationality: e.g. 30 days for Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan; 90 days within 180 for Ukraine; 90 days within 6 months from first entry for the US, UK and EU.

At the border
Official details are shown in English.
- Valid passport; ID cards only for nationalities with an agreement (e.g. Germany)
- Funds of €50 per day of stay (cash or bank statement); may be checked
- Border police may ask for a return ticket, hotel booking or invitation letter
- Health insurance is recommended (cover from €20,000)
How to avoid overstaying
- Go by your stamp or visa. The date the officer gives you is the one that counts, even if it is shorter than the maximum.
- Plan to leave a day or two early. With 90 days, book your exit before the last legal day so a cancelled flight doesn't push you over.
- Extend before you run out. To stay longer, apply for temporary residence at the police before your permitted stay ends.
- Penalties. Our data does not list the overstay penalty for Serbia. Ask the immigration authority before you risk it: fines, deportation and entry bans are common elsewhere.
Staying longer
Visa-free days are for visits. For months or years in Serbia, these are the long-stay routes in Bordr's guide (checked against official sources):

- Temporary residence based on property ownership — For the requested period, up to 3 years
- Single permit for residence and work (employment) — Up to 3 years
